Egypt's defence minister meets Sinai chieftains

Defence Minister Sedky Sobhy conveyed to Sinai chieftains the appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for them and their historical role in protecting the country.
Addressing a meeting on the sidelines of a military drill in Sinai, the minister asserted that the Armed Forces are able to secure Sinai and combat terrorism.
He made it clear that the army will not allow to relinquish any part of Sinai.
Troops are ready to sacrifice their souls to defend Sinai and bring about peace and security for the people of Egypt, he said.
He congratulated Sinai residents on the success of the recent international economic conference in Sharm El Sheikh.
The army's top brass were present.
