Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa met with Royal Navy Admiral Sir George Zambellas, U.K. chief of the naval staff, and his accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to the kingdom.
The king lauded the long-standing cooperation ties between the two countries and expressed Bahrain's keenness to consolidate them and enhance joint action and coordination, the official BNA news agency reported.
The Bahraini monarch lauded the "vital" role of the United Kingdom along with regional countries in maintaining security and stability in the region, combating terrorism and promoting global peace, according to BNA.
