UNESCO
Paris - MENA

Member states at the UNESCO's Executive Board expressed on Saturday their appreciation for Egypt's permanent envoy at the international body and president of the board Mohamed Sameh Amr as his tenure is about to expire.

The member states praised the Egyptian international and regional roles as the tenure of Amr will be finished in November.

Representing the Arab states to the board, the UAE envoy hailed Amr for his achievements during the period of his presidency of the board, citing his efforts to achieve concord among the member states in all the issues no matter how thorny they are.

Angola's envoy, who represents the African states, also paid tribute to Amr, praising his continuous readiness for giving help in all issues, and asserted that they were glad to work with him.

The Dutch ambassador, who represents EU, US, and Canada, hailed Amr's discipline in following the UNESCO board's norms and regulations, adding he appreciated his friendship with the Egyptian envoy.

The Saudi ambassador to the UNESCO held a reception party for the member states to honor Amr.
