Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Minister of State, stated that the UAE flag is the symbol of the nation’s unity and the source of its pride.

He added that Flag Day is a major national occasion, as it occurs on the anniversary of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's accession as the UAE President.

"The UAE flag is a symbol of loyalty, sacrifice and giving, and a witness to the nation's achievements and advancement among countries," he further added while highlighting the fact that celebrating Flag Day is a national duty, which strengthens the sense of responsibility and giving among the country’s citizens.

In a special statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, the minister said that the flag represents a message of tolerance and love to the whole of humanity, and the country has been keen to deliver this message to the world since the era of its founding fathers, when they united under this flag to declare the establishment of the blessed union.

The UAE flag is the most precious object flying in the skies of the nation, said Nusseibeh, while pointing out that Emiratis are united under the flag and are working together to build and develop the country in all aspects of life.

Flag Day is a day of national celebration for all the citizens and residents of the country, he concluded
