Tayyeb in UAE tomorrow to meet VP, receive Quran award

Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Dr Ahmed el-Tayyeb will leave for the UAE Wednesday to meet with Vice President Mohamed bin Rashed and a number of senior UAE officials.
Tayyeb will also attend a ceremony in which he will receive the Dubai International Holy Quran Award.
The organising committee of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, in its 18th session, has chosen the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Sheikh Ahmad Muhammad Al Tayeb, as Islamic Personality of the Year in appreciation of his role in the service of Islam and the Arab and Islamic issues.
The announcement was made during a press conference held by Ibrahim Bumilha, Adviser to the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs, and the Chairman of the Organising Committee, at its headquarters in Dubai, in the presence of the members of the organising committee.
