Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah on Wednesday highlighted the importance of human development as the cornerstone of comprehensive development.
"The state attaches great significance to the development of human being through proper education particularly at early age," said Sheikh Slaman, also President of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL).
He made the press remarks after patronizing a cultural symposium in Al-Ahmadi Governorate as part of the children and juniors festival being organized by NCCAL in collaboration with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).
"The launching of cultural centers countrywide falls in the framework of the state programs, being implemented by NCCAL, to promote culture among the youth," the minister pointed out.
"Among the most important values of culture are the strengthening of the sense of belonging and allegiance to the homeland, linking the present to the heritage of ancestors, and promoting the social coherence," Sheikh Salman went on.
He affirmed NCCAL keenness on networking with the civil society institutions and the public and private sector firms in promoting culture among the citizens.
Sheikh Salman lauded the efforts of Al-Ahmadi Governorate, headed by Governor Sheikh Fawaz Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, in support of the NCCAL activities.
On his part, Sheikh Fawaz appreciated NCCAL initiative for launching cultural centers in his governorate and meeting the aspirations of the citizens.
He voiced hope for the success of the cultural event which will conclude tomorrow, Thursday, with a Kuwaiti soiree featuring artistic, dancing and singing performances by Al-Mass Folklore Troupe and notable artistic celebrities such as Salman Al-Amari and Sultan Moftah.
