The General Organization for Youth and Sports (GOYS)-affiliated Salman Cultural Center organized for the second year successively its youth artistic talents' contest during the period 28-29 June 2013. The competition aims to display youthful artistic talents before their colleagues and to the general audience in order to gain self-confidence and for the sake of merriment in planning for the event. This year's contest was quite a fray amongst contestants on the top three titles in which 56 teams and individual competitors partook in various domains, including singing in various languages, musical instrumentation, theatric plays, poetry, magic tricks, acrobats, gymnastics, drawing, painting, etc. The first position was won by the talented young singer Abdullah Raed Bahar, followed by gifted instrumentalist Turki Nawaf in the second position and the team of clowns came third. The two winners named for a scholarship offered by the Bahrain Music Institute are: Shaikha Khalifa and Rowan Al-Abbasi. Towards the conclusion of the event, the Salman Cultural Center's Chairperson, Salama Ateeq, has honored the winners of the prime positions. She emphasized that the objective of this contest is to develop capabilities of talented youngsters in various artistic domains who are capable of creating change in creative and artistic arena and to implant a spirit of competitiveness in them, adding that we're working to discover potential Bahraini talents.
