Edinburgh - UPI

Author J.K. Rowling has sold her 19th century mansion in Edinburgh, Scotland, for more than $3.6 million, The Scotsman reported Monday. The eight-bedroom house where the scribe penned at least four of her seven "Harry Potter" novels was sold three weeks after it was listed to an Scotland firm. Rowling purchased the top half of the house in 1999, then later bought out her downstairs neighbor and converted the whole home into a single luxury residence. She lived there with her husband, Dr. Neil Murray, and her three children until 2009, the newspaper said.
