Doha - Qna
Qatar's biggest shopping carnival of the year, the Doha Trade Fair (DTF) 2012, is geared up to welcome thousands of expected visitors from home and throughout the region when doors open on January 1, offering the widest possible range of products under one roof.  Organized by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) in cooperation with q.media events, the 2012 edition of one of the region s prime trade shows will run from January 1 to 10 featuring over 570 exhibition booths from 29 countries representing five continents on a 15,000 sq m area.  Three weeks ahead of the event and the DTF 2012 is 100 percent fully booked, a spokesperson for the organizers said, according to Qatari English daily (The Peninsula).  On entering Doha Exhibition Center   the venue of DTF 2012   visitors will be welcomed by a kaleidoscopic atmosphere bursting with a festive ambiance. Hundreds of exhibitors will then vie for their attention as they offer bargain prices on everything from household consumables to cosmetics, fabrics and textiles to food and else.  In a move away from the last edition, and to make navigation through such a large exhibition space easier, the DTF 2012 will be curated based on product profile and not on country pavilion basis. The sections will include Household: furniture, lighting designs, home decor, embroideries, candles, bed sheets, duvet covers and more, Toys, Gadgets and Electronics: children s toys, computer and electronic gadgets, gift items and souvenirs, accessories and more, Perfume and Cosmetics: perfumes, make up, creams, beauty products, soaps and more, Clothes and Apparels: clothes, children s clothes, bags, shoes, accessories and more, and Food: spices, sweets, pickles and more.  The massive inventory will come from:  Bangladesh, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Korea, KSA, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, Syria, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, the UAE, the United States and Yemen.  As adults get busy in haggling and decision making, kids will have plenty to keep them occupied thanks to a separate 2,000sqm area featuring inflatables, face painting, a family of mascots, and a parade.  The parade will perform four shows daily starting from 2pm, and will include a fire show as well as a barrel show.  "The Doha Trade Fair has proven to be a highly anticipated event benefitting both the tourism and business sectors in the country. It brings together a large number of participating countries from across the globe, while spreading Qatar s name as a premier business and tourism hub in the region," said Ahmed Al Nuaimi, chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority.
