Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Dubai Culture, the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, has announced that the Etihad Museum received more than 1,000 students, since it opened to the public in January.

The museum, which is managed and operated by Dubai Culture, will continue to receive students from public and private schools over the next few months until the summer break.

The Secondary Military School in Al Thaid recently organised a trip for 400 students to the Etihad Museum. The tour was undertaken to supplement the school’s educational programmes, as the museum had exhibits depicting the UAE’s founding history, demonstrating the museum’s status as a reliable national heritage resource.

"We are delighted with the vast number of students that the museum has already received in the past month, following Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education's recent call to all the UAE schools to organise trips to the Etihad Museum. Students visiting the museum have shown enthusiasm to explore its various sections, which was evident from their many queries, diligently answered by our expert tour guides," noted Abdulla bin Massam Al Falasi, Director of Etihad Museum.

"These visits have provided an opportunity to educate the nation’s youth about the legacy of the UAE’s founding fathers, show them the historical collections and artefacts relating to the country’s leaders, and instil national values in our students, especially as the Etihad Museum serves as a prime source of information that teachers can utilise in teaching the UAE heritage and history," Al Falasi added.

The Etihad Museum is designed in the shape of a manuscript with seven columns that replicate the pen used to sign the declaration of the union in 1971. The museum includes both permanent and temporary halls, a theatre, educational and recreational areas, and administrative offices. Additionally, the corporate identity of the museum draws inspiration from the colours of the UAE national flag, its federal identity and the seven emirates.
