Manuscripts by scholars from Constantine to be published

Unpublished manuscripts written by scholars and ulema from Constantine (431-km east of Algiers), dealing with the various aspects of religion, will be published to be presented at "Constantine, Capital of Arab Culture 2015" event, the province's Religious Affairs Department said Sunday.
The organizers have made contacts with some of Constantine's families that hold manuscripts to contribute to developing the Islamic intangible heritage of one of the world's most ancient cities, the source said.
The source underlined that the region of Constantine is a "citadel" of sciences and manuscripts written by famous scholars.
A series of documentaries on the city's oldest mosques, like the mosques of Sidi Afane, Sidi Djeliss and Ketania, and zawiyas, such as those of Tidjania, Sayeda Hafsa and Aissaouia, are to be made ahead of the major cultural event, according to the source.
A total of five mosques and nine zawiyas in Constantine are concerned by restoration works.
