Kuwait gives symbolic grant to Egypt's Scientific Complex

Kuwait has granted a precious historic document to Egyptian Scientific Complex in a new gesture signaling the close and deep-rooted relations between the two countries. It is a copy of a letter addressed by the late Kuwaiti politician, Jassem Al-Ibrahim, to head of an Egyptian faculty, in 1911, notifying him of a grant by the eminent Al-Ibrahim, who was an advocate of close ties with Egypt early last century. Kuwaiti Ambassador to Egypt Dr. Rashid Al-Hamad, who personally delivered the unique paper to the complex, said the overture was made, considering the complex special role in preserving historic literary and cultural references and documents, namely papers that depict the close ties between the two brotherly countries. For his part, the secretary general of the landmark complex, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Sharnoubi, said the symbolic grant signaled Kuwait's strong support for the institution, headquarters of which was burned in 2011. Grants and awards by Kuwait are being preserved at a special chamber of the 200-year-old complex. The Kuwaiti Ambassador had donated a large collection of cultural and Islamic books to the complex, located downtown Cairo, which was renovated following the destructive blazes that erupted in middle of December, 2011.
