Egypt, Mauritania probe religious cooperation

Egypt's Mufti Shawqi Allam said on Sunday that the Egyptian Darul Iftaa is ready to cooperate with worldwide Islamic and religious opinion bodies over a mechanism to sight the crescents of the Hijri months.
This came during a meeting with Mauritanian Minister of Islamic Affairs Ahmed Ould Ehil Daoud.
The two sides discussed ways of boosting religious cooperation between the two states and efforts exerted by the Egyptian Darul Iftaa to fight terrorism.
For his part, Daoud hailed efforts exerted by Darul Iftaa scholars to defend the true image of Islam in the world.
