Riyadh - BNA

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani has expressed confidence in the success of the eighth conference of Islamic Culture Ministers, to be held under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to come up with the best results that consolidate dialogue and peace and enable the Islamic culture to face the current challenges. He expressed hope that the conference, due to be held in the Medina (Radiant City) next Tuesday, would strengthen relations among Muslim countries, and enhance cooperation among them, especially in the cultural fields. He explained that the event would be held in the Medina, considered to be the Capital of Islamic Culture ever since Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) migrated to it, which, he said, would encourage participants to meet the expectations of Muslim peoples. He also praised the outstanding results of the initiative of the Saudi Monarch on Interfaith Dialogue, widely welcomed and appreciated worldwide. He hailed the important role played by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO) and its Director-General in achieving a quantum leap regarding joint Islamic cooperation.
