Muscat - WAM
The "Solar Oil Fields 2013 Conference" began today in the Omani capital, Muscat. The event is organized by the International Quality and Productivity Center in collaboration with Global Exhibitions and Conferences LLC. According to Oman News Agency (ONA), the three-day conference aims to determine upcoming technologies for low-cost and reliable concentrated solar power for the petroleum industry, and learn about installing low-cost solar infrastructure across oil and gas facilities, replacing conventional power lines. The conference also aims to explore the avenues of integrating solar energy in various applications, and facilitate interaction between industry experts from leading solar technology companies, NOCs, IOCs and oil '&' gas solution providers.
