Russia wins control of Belarus gas network

Russia's natural gas giant Gazprom said on Friday it had signed a $2.5 billion deal to acquire the 50-percent stake it does not own already in the natural gas pipeline network of Belarus. The Beltransgas deal also sees Moscow win full ownership of the Yamal natural gas pipeline to Europe and allows Belarus to start paying Russian domestic prices for its energy imports as of 2014.
