The first Kuwait Oil and Gas Show and Conference (KOGS-2013) exceeded expectations in terms of success, Chairperson of the Executive Committee Program Husnia Hashim said Thursday. Time was set for the second installment in October 15, 2015, she said in statements to KUNA following the conference. Hashim attributed success of the conference to several reasons, most notably the support of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, as well as other factors, like the participation of a round 3,000 specialists from around the world. The official added the conference sessions covered the most important issues related to oil and gas, including topics that was did not matter Kuwait much due to being a worldwide conference global issues were highlighted. Hashim noted such issues were challenges facing the oil industry and service companies, exploration companies, and production, and how to deal with the corporate world and fully benefit from cooperation between wide range of companies. Hashim explained since the first day of the conference, participants discussed key elements for the development of the oil industry, concluding that the human element is the main pillar of any development process. She also pointed out to the need to assign more budgets for development and training workers in such sector, including the ability to train them at work sites in different regions of the world. KOGS-2013 began its work last Monday under the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Oil Minister Mustafa Al-Shamali. Also during the inauguration speech, Al-Shamali said KOGS-2013 goal was to review the latest developments in the oil world market and prices in the light of the political and economic changes. KOGS-2013 hosted 17 technical sessions that covered different and wide range of issues on oil and gas.
