Kuwait - KUNA
The First GCC Petroleum Media Forum recommended here Tuesday the implementation and production of media programs that could contribute to the dissemination of oil culture.  In a final communique, the two-day forum called for publishing Arabic and English media documents bearing on oil industry in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states for distribution inside and outside the GCC.  The conferees recommended the organizing of international media campaigns on the role of the GCC in the provision of oil supplies under ordinary and extraordinary circumstances.  The conferees also called for launching media campaigns in collaboration with international oil organizations to fight world media onslaughts against oil producers.  There should be oil sessions and discussions for media representatives and journalists, in cooperation with academic institutions and organizations, according to the communique.  The GCC member states' oil ministries should adopt training programs for a selected group of media researchers specializing in the oil field, it said, urging them to publish books and studies in the oil field.  The conferees also called for producing documentaries spotlighting efforts exerted by the GCC countries in environment protection and clean technology employment.  Saudi Arabia asked to host the second GCC Petroleum Media Forum in 2015.  The First GCC Petroleum Media Forum kicked off here earlier on Monday under the sponsorship of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.  It focused on the role of oil media organizations in the GCC member states in the development of a Gulf oil media strategy and investment of technological advancement.
