GCC Oil ministries meet in Riyadh today

The Undersecretaries of GCC Oil Ministries began their meeting (Monday October 8) in the GCC General Secretariat's premises in Riyadh today ahead of the 31st GCC Petroleum Cooperation committee meeting due to be held here tomorrow. The meeting is expected to discuss a number of topics on its agenda including a memorandum from the General Secretariat regarding the bill of Consolidated Executive Code, the report of the GCC energy team, the memorandum of the GCC General Secretariat regarding implementation mechanisms for petroleum policies and strategic goals for the GCC countries. The meeting also discusses the report of the head of working group of GCC countries tasked with studying and follow-up of developments of the meetings of the UN Framework Agreement for Climate Change, Kyoto Protocol, the memorandum of the GCC General Secretariat regarding the meetings of the GCC team for energy affairs in the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The meeting also discusses steps taken regarding the 1st GCC Petroleum Media Forum to be convened in March 2013.
