Central Bank receives governor of Bank of Korea

The Central Bank of the U.A.E. has announced that it received Dr. Kim Choongsoo, Governor of the Bank of Korea (Central Bank of South Korea) today at Central Bank's Head Office in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Kim is currently visiting the U.A.E. to participate in NBAD's Global Financial Markets Forum. Sultan Bin Nasser Al Suwaidi, Governor of Central Bank of the U.A.E., received Dr. Kim along with Central Bank senior staff. The Central Bank of the U.A.E. and the Bank of Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Monday in Seoul, aimed at co-operation, exchange of information and expertise, and training. On the margins of the meeting, the Governor of the Bank of Korea, accompanied by the Governor of Central Bank, visited Central Bank's Museum which includes part of the Central Bank's collections of currency notes, currency coins, commutative coins, gifts, samples of issues of U.A.E. currency notes / coins and currencies of other countries, in addition to cash counting and sorting machines that were used by the Central Bank in the past.
