Apple’s recently unveiled smartphones broke pre-order records for the company, according to a statement issued by the technology giant on Monday.
Around 4 million iphone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were ordered within 24 hours of their launch on September 9. It is reported that the amount of pre-orders has doubled the number for the iPhone 5, which was introduced two years ago.
“iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are better in every way, and we are thrilled customers love them as much as we do,” the head of Apple, Tim Cook said in a written statement.
It is also reported that the record-breaking pre-order of the new smartphones increased the company’s stock value by 0.35 per cent.
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus will be available on September 19.
