Yemen and Egypt discussed on Sunday in Cairo the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of communications and technical and technological industries. This came in the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Smart Village in Cairo and gathered Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Ahmed bin Daghr with his Egyptian counterpart Atef Helmy. The meeting dealt with the possibility of benefiting from the Egyptian expertise developed in the field of professional services for the information and communications technology. At the same context, a session of talks was held at the headquarters of The National Telecom Regulatory Authority ( NTRA ) in Cairo and co-chaired by Dr. Ahmed bin Daghr and Head of the NTRA, Hisham Alayli. The session, which was attended by specialists from both sides, discussed the possibility of taking advantage of the Egyptian experience in the field of communication technology and high-speed Internet in Yemen. Furthermore, a second session of talks was held at the headquarters of Telecom Egypt company and co-chaired by Dr Ahmed bin Daghr and CEO of Telecom Egypt, Mohammed El- Nawawi. The talks dealt with the possibility to benefit from the Egyptian expertise in the transformation of Telecom Egypt from a government institution to a stock company, as well as the joint submarine cable projects between Yemen and Egypt and ways to develop bilateral cooperation between Teleyemen company and Telecom Egypt.
