Dubai - WAM

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, TRA, yesterday held a coordination meeting with local e-Government directors in the U.A.E. during the fourth day of Gitex Technology Week.
The TRA facilitated the meeting which sought to discuss ways in which the local e-Government departments can coordinate efforts and enhance collaboration procedures.
The outcome of the meeting was the agreement to work together as one team to enhance progress towards the full implementation of the m-Government programme ahead of the 2015 deadline set by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
"Government service delivery in the U.A.E. is currently among the most advanced in the world with all parties concerned working towards a more effective, efficient and accessible system. The TRA is heavily involved with the national process of harnessing the power of technologies for the betterment of the public, and this meeting between the e-Government departments of both Abu Dhabi and Dubai was organised with this in mind," said Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director-General, U.A.E. m-Government and the Information and e-Government Sector of the TRA.
Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, Director-General, Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre, said, "The discussion between those present was both insightful and productive and the outcome of the meeting will certainly lead to closer operations between all entities involved." Ahmad bin Humaidan, Director-General of Dubai Smart Government, lauded the cooperation between local and federal entities, saying, "Gitex 2014 has been very useful to bring together all local and federal governments to work towards joint solutions to bring happiness to our people, in line with our leadership’s wishes. Our joint meeting with all smart government directors in the U.A.E. will lead to greater sharing of innovative ideas and best practices on a unified methodology for government service applications and the creation of the best smart government model in the U.A.E.."
