London - Arabstoday
Loads of new Smartphones will be available in coming months. So if you're thinking of replacing your handset, take a look at what will be on sale soon. It's definitely to your advantage to wait a little while longer and buy a device that will be worthy of all the hard-earned cash you'll have to pay for it. Samsung seems to come out with new Smartphones faster than any other vendor and now, they're combining devices. The Samsung GALAXY Beam is a projector Smartphone that allows users to share photos, videos or other digital media by beaming content stored on the device directly onto walls, ceilings or improvised flat surfaces. It's a lot of fun to project a photo onto a nearby surface instead of everyone huddling around a tiny screen. The GALAXY Beam has an ultra-bright 15 lumens projector that "beams" clear images, even outdoors, up to 50" wide. Take photos with the GALAXY Beam's 5MP camera and then project an impromptu slideshow at a party or turn the seat back in any car into a movie screen. Samsung expects to launch the GALAXY Beam this summer. If instead of a projector, you'd rather have a PC, then get the  LG Optimus 4X HD. This is a quad-core processor Smartphone, that combines NVIDIA’s latest 1.5GHz Tegra 3 with a True HD IPS display. The NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor is the world's only 4-PLUS-1Quad-Core mobile processor designed for high-level multimedia performance, but utilizes a fifth battery-saver core to handle less demanding tasks such as active standby and music playback. When running at full speed, the 12-core graphics processing unit (GPU) in the Tegra 3 delivers a visually rich experience and console-quality game playability. Look for it this summer. In the second quarter of this year, Sony Mobile Communications is adding to their Xperia NXT series with the Xperia P and Xperia U. These Smartphones have a “transparent element,” around the base of the phone that illuminates when receiving calls, texts and notifications. The Xperia P will  debut WhiteMagic display technology from Sony for the first time on a Smartphone. WhiteMagic technology delivers the brightest viewing experience. Smart power efficiency automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen to the surroundings to conserve battery life. The Xperia U combines Sony entertainment in a compact design that consumers can personalize inside and out. This Smartphone has a focus on amazing audio and in the Xperia U the transparent element illuminates to match the color of photos viewed in the gallery or the album art of music tracks currently playing. ASUS has an unusual mobile device coming out in April. The ASUS PadFone transforms into a three-in-one combination of Smartphone, tablet and notebook when accessorized with the PadFone Station and PadFone Station Dock. The ASUS PadFone is a 4.3″ Smartphone featuring a Super AMOLED qHD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual core processor and an 8-megapixel digital camera. When placed inside the optional PadFone Station, it transforms into a 10.1″ tablet. The PadFone uses Dynamic Display technology to allow seamless transition between the PadFone and PadFone Station display screens. In addition, the PadFone Station offers an optional keyboard dock that essentially turns the PadFone into an ultraportable computing device. The PadFone also comes with the option of a PadFone Stylus Headset, which is a Bluetooth stylus pen that transforms into a headset for answering calls. Sounds like the PadFone has everything covered, but Panasonic has a great device coming out in April, too. The ELUGA power meets IP57 standards for water and dust proofing. You can use it in the shower or a sandstorm. The Smartphone boasts Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, a 5.0 inch HD LCD screen and 1080p Full HD video capability. It's also equipped with near field communication (NFC) technology, allowing wireless data transfer. Best of all, with just 30 minutes charging, the phone's battery reaches fifty percent charge capacity. If you're a Nokia fan, then you'll want to consider its latest Symbian Smartphone launching next month. The Nokia 808 PureView is the first Smartphone to feature Nokia PureView imaging technologies. This Smartphone features a high-resolution 41 megapixel sensor with high-performance Carl Zeiss optics and new pixel oversampling technology. At standard resolutions (2/3, 5 and 8 megapixels) the Smartphone has the ability to zoom without loss of clarity and capture seven pixels of information, condensing them into one pixel for very sharp images. At high-resolution (38 megapixel maximum) the Smartphone has the ability to capture an image, then zoom, reframe, crop and resize afterward to expose previously unseen levels of details. The Nokia 808 PureView also includes full HD 1080p video recording and playback with 4X lossless zoom and the world's first use of Nokia Rich Recording. Rich Recording enables audio recording at CD-like levels of quality, previously only possible with external microphones. The last Smartphone to showcase today is one for your grandmother. The Doro PhoneEasy, available this summer, has large application icons so senior citizens can use it easily. The phone works with the Doro Experience Manager, a web-based management portal that enables the user or a family member to remotely manage the content and applications stored on the device. Thanks to this cloud-based technology, digital content including photos and applications can now be pushed onto or removed from the phone. This service has been developed by Doro to improve communication between generations. Now that's a very smart idea!
