Russian World champion weightlifter Maryana Naumova participated in the Republic Championship of Women’s Physical Strength held on Wednesday at al-Fayhaa Sports Hall in Damascus.
The Championship is held with the participation of 30 players.
The 19-year-old Russian weightlifter participated in chest lifts, raising 95 kg and 100 kg successfully to the cheering of the game audience and fans.
Speaking to SANA, Naumova said “I am happy to be among the Syrians and I look forward to visiting Syria in the coming years to participate alongside its athletes in their activities in support of Syria and its people.”
