Dr. Al Qubaisi joins celebrations

Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council, FNC, yesterday joined the celebrations of the official opening of the European Union Delegation to the UAE at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi.

A number of EU Ambassadors accredited to the UAE met Dr. Al Qubaisi at the reception, where the national anthems of the UAE and the EU were played.

Speaking at the reception, Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, praised the FNC Speaker, saying, that the UAE is a source of inspiration for having the first woman Speaker of the Federal National Council.

She congratulated Dr. Al Qubaisi in advance for the excellent hospitality that she will provide to the Global Summit of Women Speakers of Parliaments in Abu Dhabi in December, and added that celebrating a friendship and excellent co-operation came straight from the heart.
