Bahrain Women’s Day
Manama - Arab Today

Bahraini women exercising engineering professions will be in the limelight this year.
The annual Bahrain Women’s Day will be held under the theme “Women in the engineering sector”.
The supreme Council for Women (SCW) today unveiled the slogan of the 2017 edition.
The logo, which features intertwined shapes, reflects the standing of Bahraini women who are part of the engineering community in Bahrain.
The new identity will be used to mark all the activities associated with the Bahrain Women’s Day 2017, in addition to publications, announcements, billboards and social media websites.
Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and SCW President announced the allocation of the 2017 edition in recognition of women’s dedicated contribution to this key sector over four decades.
The 2017 edition will also showcase success stories of pioneering women engineers and shed light on challenges facing them.
Bahraini women made their debut since the 1970s, particularly the chemical and civil engineering (1977), architecture (1978), agricultural and electrical engineering (1979). Bahraini women succeeded in coping with the new engineering specialties, including computer engineering, aviation engineering and proved their credentials.
