Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), stressed keenness of SCW on encouraging the youth’s voluntary initiatives and projects which are aimed at boosting stability of the Bahraini society.

HRH Princess Sabeeka was speaking on the occasion of honouring winners of the second edition of Shaikha Hessa bint Salman Al Khalifa Award for Youth Voluntary Work. She paid homage to late Shaikha Hessa for her tremendous role and dedicated efforts to support charity, voluntary and social work. She affirmed Bahrain’s advanced standing on the map of regional and international voluntary work thanks to the pioneering efforts of the forefathers and mothers who spent their life in serving their nation.

HRH Princess Sabeeka hailed the voluntary social initiatives carried out by Bahraini youngsters, pointing out human solidarity characterising the Bahraini community. She said adopting the important national award by SCW comes within the framework of the council’s keenness to promote social stability and foster the spirit of competitiveness among the Bahraini youth by motivating them to take part positively in the march of progress and prosperity.

HRH Princess Sabeeka praised the great development of the second edition of Shaikha Hessa bint Salman Al Khalifa Award for Youth Voluntary Work in terms of criteria and stages, lauding the award’s capability to promote the culture of voluntary work among the youth and highlight its moral value as a national and humanitarian duty. She also commended the efforts of the award’s committee Head and SCW member Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa in supervising the award’s activities and monitoring its development.

HRH Princess Sabeeka honoured during the celebration winners of the second edition of the award and appreciated a number of projects that qualified for the final stage.

In a speech given to mark the occasion, Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa expressed heartfelt thanks and appreciation to HRH Princess Sabeeka for her national initiatives to develop the community and outstanding role in the empowerment of Bahraini women. She stressed keenness of the award committee in this edition to diversify ways of assessing works, pointing out an increase in the number of participating projects. She also emphasised the role of the private sector in promoting voluntary work, asserting the importance of the media in highlighting pioneering initiatives.
