Amman - Arab Today

The US embassy called for applications for the 2014 Women in Science Hall of Fame programme. The deadline to apply is August 1, an embassy statement said on Wednesday. Every year, 12 women “from a variety of scientific disciplines are selected for their professional accomplishments and ability to motivate and inspire young women to pursue scientific careers”, according to the statement. “Each of these role models demonstrates that women can balance demanding careers with fulfilling personal lives.” Since it was first launched in 2010, the programme has honoured 49 outstanding Arab women from different scientific backgrounds.
