United Nations diplomat hopes to see woman as Syria's president

UN envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura voiced hope that a woman might become Syria's president.
The political transition is "the mother of all issues", Sky News Arabia quoted de Mistura as saying in a press conference.
He noted that this issue would be the focus of the talks. Opposing views on the fate of Syrian President Bashar al Assad helped to wreck a previous round of peace talks in 2014, and undermined an attempt to forge a road map for peace in 2012.
