Widad Babiker, wife of Sudan's President Omar Hassan al-Bashir, has praised the prestigious stature and the positive participation of Emirati women in all domains thanks to the support of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the efforts of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), to empower women in various fields, especially in voluntary and humanitarian work at the international arena.

She made her remarks during her meeting with the delegation of the Fatima bint Mubarak Volunteering Programme and the General Women's Union, GWU, led by Noura Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the Union.

She praised the support of Sheikha Fatima for various humanitarian projects, not only in the UAE and Sudan but globally as well. Babiker also lauded Sheikha Fatima’s initiatives to empower women and children that are deemed the first of a kind internationally and are a testimony of her continuous giving and attention to distinguished initiatives.
