International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr took part in a session of the Council of Women World Leaders on the fringe of the Davos Forum. 

A Cluster of key world figures attended the session, topped by Mauritian President Ameenah Gurib, UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova, Panamian Vice President Isabel Saint Malo, Argentinian Foreign Minister Susana Malcorra and Dutch Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Lilianne Ploumen.

Nasr reviewed the Egyptian women role in realizing comprehensive economic and social development and confronting terror and extremism.

She noted that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi announced that 2017 is the year of women in view of women's vital role.

She said women should be well aware of the importance of developing their skills and culture in various domains.

She noted that the International Cooperation Ministry bankrolls projects that back female breadwinners in various villages and governorates.

She added that the state implemented several initiatives and important policies to eradicate gender discrimination against women.

She added that women played a key role in the June 30 revolution.

Nasr, then, attended a session on education and innovative training.

Nasr noted that youths represent 40% of Egypt's population and they are the catalyst for all-out social and economic development.

The minister underlined the importance of creating jobs to capitalize on youths' potentials.

She noted that the ministry works with international development partners to fund small and micro enterprises.
