British Foreign Office confirms release of British-Iranian woman

British Foreign Office has confirmed reports about the release of British-Iranian Ghoncheh Ghavami, who was detained at a men's volleyball match in Iran.
Ghavami has been freed on bail, spokesman for Foreign Office said.
Ghoncheh Ghavemi, 25, was arrested and sentenced to a year in jail for "propagating against the ruling system" after she and a group of other women tried to attend the men’s sports event on 20 June.
Her family said that she had now been freed on bail until her court appeal, after she staged hunger strikes and hundreds of thousands of people signed a petition calling for her release, the Independent newspaper reported.
Ghavemi’s brother Iman Ghavami, 28, said: "She has been bailed until her court appeal, when she hopes to be vindicated.
"She was bailed for £20,000 and now wants to spend time with her family," he added.
