The Khalifa University of Science and Technology, a research university dedicated to the advancement of learning through teaching and research and to the discovery and application of knowledge, has announced that it is participating through its Petroleum Institute as an academic partner in the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, ADIPEC, 2017.

ADIPEC, which opened today, runs until 16th November at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, ADNEC. It has brought together more than 100,000 leading trade professionals, technology experts, and decision makers in the oil and gas sector.

At the university stand, faculty and students are showcasing several advanced scientific research projects in the oil and gas industry. In addition, seminars and discussion panels at ADIPEC will highlight the research efforts of the Petroleum Institute that aim to provide its regional partners with the necessary studies and research that contribute to accelerating the industry’s growth.

More than 45 students from the university are part of the Young ADIPEC programme, which aims to engage the youth in the oil and gas sector and provide a platform for young Emiratis to exchange knowledge and experience.

The programme also aims to inspire young students and professionals to interact directly with today's industry leaders, paving the way to become leaders of tomorrow and contribute to finding innovative solutions to the challenges facing the sector.

Dr. Ali Al Mansouri, Interim Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Khalifa University, said, "As an academic partner in this important event, we are pleased to showcase the advanced research projects of our students and faculty in the vital oil and gas field. Our participation in one of the largest and most important exhibitions in this field is a proof of the quality of education, research, and academic outcome of the university, which is represented here by the Petroleum Institute."
