Dr Bader al-Essa
Sharm al-Sheikh - KUNA

The Kuwaiti Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Bader Al-Essa said Thursday that the Kuwaiti government was exerting relentless efforts to bring down the illiteracy rate to zero.
Speaking here at a UNESCO-organized ministerial meeting on the future of education in the Arab region, Al-Essa pointed out that the illiteracy rate in Kuwait was already low: 1.07 percent among males and 5.02 among females.
Kuwait is forging ahead towards a zero illiteracy rate through allowing easy access to education, he underlined.
Furthermore, Al-Essa said that the government is embarking on an ambitious five-year plan to upgrade the whole education process in collaboration with the national center for education development.
He stated that the plan aimed to ameliorate all the elements involved in the process: school management, teachers, educational tools and curricula.
