Fatah greets Hamas on winning West Bank student union election

Palestine's Fatah movement congratulated Hamas on winning a student council election held Wednesday at the Birzeit University in the West Bank.
The election process is anther proof of Fatah support for democracy, said Fatah Spokesman Osama el Qawsmy on Thursday.
Hamas' Islamic List emerged victorious with 26 seats, while the Fatah-affiliated list trailed with 19.
In last year’s vote, the Fatah bloc won 23 seats while the Islamic Wafaa’ bloc received 20.
