Birmingham - UPI

Officials in a Birmingham, England, said a wedding fair was mistakenly advertised on its website, despite taking place in the Alabama city of the same name. A Birmingham, England, City Council spokesman said the advertisement for a wedding fair in the council website's "things to do in Birmingham" section was submitted by organizers who apparently did not realize it was the site for the English city instead of the fair's actual U.S. location, Birmingham, Ala., the Mirror reported Wednesday. "Our events website is clearly so successful that event organizers from over 4,000 miles away are keen to advertise," the spokesman joked. "Events are submitted by organizers and there is an approval process before they go live on the website. Unfortunately this one slipped through the net but was removed once we discovered the error."
