Manama - BNA

Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi today received Bahrain's Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, who congratulated the minister on the inauguration of the new media development projects.

The Information Minister welcomed the Ambassador's visit and his encouragement to the ministry's officials and employees to continue promoting the media mission in the interest of the homeland and citizens and highlighting Bahrain's media standing in regional and international forum.

The minister praised the sincere national efforts of Shaikh Fawaz Al Khalifa in the development of the information, telecommunication and IT sectors, as well as the youth and sport movement in Bahrain. He paid tribute to the achievements made during his chairmanship of the Information Affairs Authority, wishing him success in further boosting the 200 years friendship relations between the two kingdoms.

He said the media development programmes and plans are the result of collective efforts of all officials and employees prioritizing the national interest and the homeland's progress, unity and the Gulf and Arab national security

The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation, as well as external media coordination on highlighting, in the international media forums, the development, democratic and civilizational achievements witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain under the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. They also discussed means of thwarting hostile campaigns aimed at undermining Bahrain's security, stability and unity, and hindering its national reforms and development march.

Shaik Fawaz Al Khalifa express pride in the recent media developments, wishing the ministry's officials and employees success in bolstering the comprehensive democratic and development process led by HM the King and the government chaired by HRH Prime Minister and the support of HRH Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
