Head of Egypt's press syndicate Yehia Kalash
Cairo - MENA

Chairman of the Syndicate of Journalists Yahia Qalash has said that he is confident that the State Council will have no remarks on a unified press draft law it is currently revising - in a way that do not contradict with the constitution, which put an end to imprisonment in press cases.

Minister of Legal Affairs Magdy el Aagati recently denied news that the bill reinstates provisional detention in press cases, Qalash said in statements to MENA Monday.

According to Qalash, the bill guarantees stability at the press institutions, especially in the absence of legislation to regulate the media.
