Washington - UPI
Subaru of America is recalling more than 47,000 vehicles that could unexpectedly start on their own, U.S. regulators said. The recall involves model year 2010-2013 Legacy and Outback vehicles, 2012-2013 Imprezas and 2013 XC Crosstrek sport utility vehicles, The Chicago Tribune reported Friday. The problem stems from remote engine-starters that could signal the car to start if dropped. A vehicle could run out of gas or, if parked in an enclosed space, could emit dangerous levels of poisonous carbon monoxide, officials said. Subaru said dealers will replace remote engine-starting key fobs at no charge. Consumers can call the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 800-782-2783 for information.
