Samsung Electronics Co., the world's No. 2 smartphone maker, said Wednesday that it plans to boost sales of smartphones in emerging markets by rolling out cheap and low-end models amid growing competition with Apple Inc. Apple, the world's largest smartphone maker, is moving to launch low-cost versions of its hot-selling iPhone 4 and the upcoming iPhone 5, as it seeks to woo lower-end customers in China and other emerging markets.
