Mobile carriers' own messenger service struggling on competition

Efforts by local mobile carriers to woo subscribers to their own messenger service is failing to garner strong interest from users, industry data showed Friday. In December last year, the country's three mobile carriers -- SK Telecom Co., KT Corp. and LG Uplus Corp. -- launched their own messenger service "Joyn", a joint project of the members of GSMA, the global association of mobile operators.
