Turkey's Energy
Ankara - Anadolu

Turkey's Energy and Natural Ministry has unveiled an innovative new monitoring system for measuring the country's energy reserves and flows.
The Electronic Energy Map system - which gives detailed information about reserves, production rates and distribution routes of energy in the country - was presented at a conference at the ministry in Ankara on Monday.
The system, designed by engineers at the ministry, feeds real-time information from sensors at energy plants around the country to the ministry in Ankara where it is monitored live.
Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said: "The system is currently only used by ministry officials but, in time, everybody can use it."
"Fifteen million information streams are used in the system and this data will be updated every day. Inputs into the system will increase by 2015."
Ministry officials can use the system to monitor all energy resources and reserves - including coal mines, power lines and oil and natural gas fields and their production rates - throughout Turkey, he said.
Turkey has 1,000 plants producing energy and has the second-longest run of power cables in Europe.
