Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said on Tuesday that the government has opened the door for the private sector to produce electricity from solar energy.

The premier made the remarks after a meeting with investors to discuss business in the 10th of Ramadan industrial city in eastern Sharqiya.

The Ministry of Electricity has taken the necessary measures to announce a tender for new projects, the prime minister said.

Asked about increase in dollar prices, Ismail said a plan was on way to curb the hike and save the basic daily commodities from price increase. Source: MENA
