Egyption government approves use of coal as fuel

The Cabinet approved Wednesday the use of coal to generate power amid a crippling fuel crisis, stressing commitment to environmental standards and regulations. This came during a meeting headed by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab, in which the government said it will commit to environmental regulations and evaluations during the importing, transportation, storage and usage of coal.
