Egyptian scientists call for building nuclear power stations

Egyptian scientists are pressing for establishing nuclear power stations in Egypt as soon as possible.
Alternative energy should also be used, especially wind and solar energy, the scientists said in a seminar on nuclear and renewable energy Wednesday.
Dr Mohie el-Essawi said rationalizing energy consumption is essential as Egypt is facing an energy crisis.
According to him, solar energy is the only solution in the time being to this crisis, believing it could help achieve a breakthrough within two years.
The government should also start building nuclear stations now, Essawi said.
