Karak - Petra

The National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) said on Saturday that it is preparing a plan to deal with emergencies and elevate the level of its services to ensure that no power outages occur during winter and necessary repairs are carried out to the power grid.
Yassin al Khattab, NEPCO assistant general manager for administrative affairs, told a news conference that a number of transformers had been installed or updated and exposed power lines replaced to prevent connectivity from being severed during harsh weather conditions, particularly in the highlands in the southern region.
He added that the company will provide these areas with snow sweepers, use vehicles suitable for severe weather conditions and raise the level of performance of technical and emergency teams to address complaints and repair damage to the grid.
The Director of Karak Electricity Distribution Company, Saham Majali, highlighted the company's preparations to conduct maintenance of the grid lines and stations and set up voltage booster stations at a cost of JD1.5 million to ensure uninterrupted electricity supplies for all areas.
Majali said a modern call center will be set up to respond to citizens' complaints for any power disruptions and ensure they are addressed as quickly as possible. He also called on citizens to cooperate with the company's personnel, especially in winter and emergency situations.
