Egyptian PM Ibrahim Mahlab
Cairo - MENA

Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab asked planning and housing ministers to provide a new sustainable sanitation strategy with giving priority to the suspended water and sanitation projects.

Mahlab was speaking on Saturday during a meeting with ministers of finance, housing, and planning.

The premier demanded full transparency in issues related to water and sanitation.

"Do not hide anything from people," he told the officials, demanding water plants to announce water quality analyses on daily basis.

Mahlab further ordered focusing efforts on providing water supply and sanitation services in impoverished areas.

For his part, Housing Minister Mustafa Madbouly said that 53 water projects are due to be finalized by the end of the current fiscal.
