Cairo - MENA

The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation has said that two underground water wells have been established in Halayeb and Shalatin area on the borders with Sudan to meet the needs of the residents of drinking water.
A source at the ministry said in a statement Tuesday the two wells, which work with solar energy, produce 100 cubic meters of water per hour, pointing out that the government intends to dig six more wells.
Engineer Ousi Khalil, the head of the General Company for Research & Groundwater had revealed the area enjoys big quantities of subterranean water which would be exploited in reclaiming lands and expand the green areas.
