The JW Marriott hotel in Tripoli will reopen soon, as reported in Tripoli Post. The hotel which briefly opened its doors before the political unrest that started in 2011 is now expected to relaunch next year. The 307-room hotel will reopen after undergoing repair and maintenance work to fix damage. The hotel is owned by Korea’s Daewoo E&C and the Libyan government. The hotel is located at Haiy Al Abrajj , Al Teejani Street. Marriott also announced it is planning to open hotels in Ghana, Ethiopia and Rwanda next year, and aimed to have a total of 45 new properties in the Middle East and Africa by 2018, with 20,000 operating rooms by 2015. The firm said that its RevPar (revenue per available room) rose by 10.6% in the second quarter of 2013 across the Middle East and Africa, with occupancy rates up 2% and average room rates up 6.8%.
